A crash involving three vehicles closed Texas 121 in Euless and resulted in the death of one driver on Thursday morning, according to police.

The accident occurred around 7 a.m. between Cheek-Sparger and Glade roads in the northbound lanes of the highway. Police reported that a small Chevrolet SUV was speeding and weaving through traffic when it collided with a disabled pickup truck.

The SUV had been attempting to pass another vehicle on the inside shoulder of the highway when it struck the pickup truck, as stated in a police press release.

After hitting the pickup truck, the SUV also collided with another vehicle and caught fire. The driver of the SUV, who was alone in the vehicle, died at the scene, police confirmed.

Emergency responders transported the driver of the disabled pickup truck to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.

The crash caused the closure of the northbound lanes of Texas 121 for several hours on Thursday morning. All lanes were reopened by 11 a.m.
