Gunmen in two cars fired many shots at each other while speeding down a street in Albany Park overnight, according to police. A 19-year-old bystander was injured during the shootout.

Police cordoned off nearly three blocks around Leland Avenue and Hamlin Avenue to collect numerous shell casings and other evidence scattered on the streets.

The gunfire started around 1:30 a.m. One bullet hit the 19-year-old in the shoulder while he was parking in the 3600 block of West Leland, police reported. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and is in good condition.

A witness said the gunmen shot at each other from a white Dodge Durango and a gray SUV. Police have not yet released descriptions of the suspects.
