A fatal crash occurred early Friday morning in far East County, involving three vehicles. The incident took place on Old Highway 80 and Tierra Del Sol Road in Manzanita, near Boulevard, around 1 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a blue car driven by a female collided head-on with a pickup truck and a small SUV. The woman, who has not been identified, was ejected from her car and pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency crews had to extract the driver and a passenger from the pickup truck, who were then airlifted to nearby hospitals. Their current conditions are unknown. The driver of the SUV was also hospitalized with injuries whose severity is unclear.
CHP officials closed a section of Old Highway 80 to conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash, which remains undetermined at this time.
