The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash in California City in May as 31-year-old Victor Alonzo Moncada Gonzalez from Santa Ana.

According to California City police, the incident occurred on May 8, 2024, around 1:19 p.m. Emergency services responded to a collision between a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of California City Boulevard and Hacienda Boulevard.

Police found Gonzalez lying on his side at the scene. They immediately started life-saving measures, which continued until paramedics from California City Fire and Hall Ambulance took over. Unfortunately, Gonzalez passed away at the scene.

An investigation determined that Gonzalez was riding his motorcycle east on California City Boulevard and entered the intersection with Hacienda Boulevard. At the same time, a vehicle traveling west on California City Boulevard began to turn left onto southbound Hacienda Boulevard. The motorcycle collided with the vehicle’s passenger side during the turn.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
