In a recent murder case, court documents have unveiled disturbing details about how a woman’s body was hidden in a sleeping bag. Yazmeen Williams, aged 31, was last seen on June 30 at her apartment building in Kips Bay, New York City. Surveillance footage captured her disposing of trash, but she never left her floor or the building thereafter.
Earlier, on June 26, cameras recorded Williams having a heated argument with a man in a wheelchair, identified as 55-year-old Chad Irish. During the altercation, Irish threatened Williams, saying he would shoot her.
Irish has been charged with murdering Williams and hiding her body. Her body was discovered wrapped in a dark sleeping bag and a black trash bag among the garbage. Her death was determined to be a homicide due to a gunshot wound to her head.
Investigators found surveillance footage showing a man in a wheelchair dragging the sleeping bag, believed to be Irish. It’s unclear how long Williams’ body had been in the sleeping bag before it was found.
Irish had been released on parole in 2022 after serving time for robbery. He had also faced a murder charge in 1994 for allegedly causing an explosion that killed his uncle inside a house. He is scheduled to appear in court again soon.
