Police are investigating after a woman was shot inside a Mercedes on Tuesday evening near the 105 Freeway in South Los Angeles.
Officers responded to the area near Vermont Avenue and 115th Street close to the 105 Freeway at around 7:45 p.m.
They found the woman inside a white Mercedes with multiple gunshot wounds. She was quickly taken to the hospital; her condition is currently unknown. AIR7 footage from above the scene showed the front passenger window of the vehicle riddled with bullet holes, and the driver’s side window was shattered.
Authorities have not yet provided information about any suspects involved in the shooting. It’s also unclear whether the incident occurred on the freeway or on nearby streets.
As a result of the investigation, Vermont Avenue has been closed to traffic. The case remains under active investigation by law enforcement.
