Vehicle Submerged in Lake Michigan Claims Milwaukee Man’s Life

A 63-year-old man from Milwaukee passed away after his vehicle was found submerged in Lake Michigan on Saturday night in Oak Creek.

Emergency services received the report around 10:55 p.m. on July 13, according to the Oak Creek Fire Department. The vehicle was located about 50 feet from the Bender Park boat launch, submerged in 8 to 10 feet of water.

The Oak Creek Fire Department responders extracted the man, identified as Robert Morales by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office. Paramedics declared him deceased at 12:20 a.m. on July 14.

The cause of death is currently undetermined, as reported by the Medical Examiner.

Morales’ daughter, residing in Illinois, confirmed his identity from a photograph.

Milwaukee Fire Department’s dive team searched the area near the vehicle but found no other individuals inside.

The South Milwaukee Fire Department provided assistance during the incident.
