Two women were arrested for allegedly causing a toddler to overdose on methamphetamine. The incident happened earlier this year in Atlantic County.

In late April, someone informed Egg Harbor Township police that a 16-month-old child had ingested the drug. This led to charges against the two women, Holly Peace and Gabrielle DePasquale.

DePasquale, 44, from Atlantic City, was arrested on May 23 in Mount Laurel, Burlington County. Peace, 43, from Egg Harbor Township, was arrested on Wednesday by township police.

Both women were sent to Atlantic County jail on charges of endangering the welfare of a child. Peace also faced charges of neglect of a child and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Attorney information for the women was not immediately available.

The Egg Harbor Township police learned about the overdose on April 30 from someone who found out about it after the child was exposed to the drug. The police received a video as evidence. There were no reports made to the police on the day of the overdose.

Both women were identified as suspects through an investigation by township police and state child protective services.
