During a car stop on Thursday at 1:43 p.m., the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office Pro-Active Unit found what they think is 13.41 grams of cocaine and 55 grams of fentanyl.

Ralph Barnes, 42, and Cassandra Barnes, 41, both from Ottawa, were taken to the Grundy County Jail.

A 2014 Buick was pulled over on westbound Interstate 80 for speeding and not signaling. The couple inside agreed to a check of the car, according to a news release from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

Police officers did a pat down and found what they thought was a small amount of cocaine on the seat and floor board.

It was also discovered that Ralph had lied about who he was. His driver’s license had been canceled, and he was wanted in both La Salle and DuPage counties.

Cassandra was charged with having one to fifteen grams of cocaine on her and fifteen to one hundred grams of fentanyl on her with the plan to deliver them.
