A 12-year-old girl died from injuries in a serious car crash on Friday evening involving multiple vehicles. The incident occurred around 6:18 p.m. in the 600 block of East Century Boulevard in the Green Meadows neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

When the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived, they found 10 people injured—six adults and four children. Firefighters had to rescue one adult who was trapped inside a vehicle.

This person was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The others managed to get out of their vehicles on their own.

Five adults were in fair condition and three children were in moderate condition when they were transported to local hospitals. Tragically, one of the children—a 12-year-old girl—died at the crash site. In total, nine people were taken to hospitals.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division.
