A woman in Manhattan was pushed to her death from a hill in Riverside Park on Sunday. Police and sources said her 22-year-old son was taken into custody after the incident.

The woman, Vianel Garcia, 44, had an argument with her son near Riverside Drive and W. 165th St. in Washington Heights around 4:15 p.m., according to officials.

Witnesses reported that the son allegedly pushed Garcia down a grassy hillside. Paramedics found Garcia seriously injured at the bottom of the hill. She was taken to Harlem Hospital but did not survive.

Police arrested Garcia’s son at the scene. As of Sunday evening, charges against him were pending, and his name had not been released.

Garcia was a resident of East Harlem, according to the police.
