A tragic incident happened on a quiet street in Queens over the weekend. According to police sources, a man shot and killed his brother, and also wounded their mother, before taking his own life.

The trouble began when the two brothers started arguing inside their family home in Richmond Hill late Saturday night. Things escalated, and the older brother, Karamjit Multani, who was 33 years old, grabbed a gun and fired several shots inside the house.

Neighbors heard the commotion and initially thought it was just firecrackers. However, when they saw police lights and heard sirens, they realized something serious had happened. The younger brother, Vipanpal Multani, who was 27, was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Their mother, who is 52 years old, was shot once in the torso but survived and was taken to the hospital.

After the shooting, Karamjit ran off to a nearby street and apparently shot himself in the head. His body was found by the police with the gun beside him.

Neighbors were shocked and disturbed by the violence. One neighbor said they had never seen anything like it before and found it scary. Another neighbor expressed sympathy for the family, especially the mother who lost two sons in the tragedy.

This incident is the second homicide in the area this year, compared to seven homicides in the whole of the previous year.
