Amber Portwood’s soon-to-be husband is missing, and police in North Carolina are looking for him.

The star of “Teen Mom OG” told the Bryson City Police Department that her fiancé, Gary R. Wayt, is missing. He was last seen at a hotel around 6 p.m. on Sunday. Portwood, who is 34, and Wayt, who is 39, live together in Indianapolis, Indiana. The police are actively investigating the case.

The Bryson City Police Department shared photos of Wayt on Facebook and asked the public for help in finding him. He was driving a gray 2009 Nissan Rogue with Indiana license plates. If anyone has information, they are urged to contact the Bryson City Police Department and ask for Chief Robinson or Assistant Chief Dover.

Portwood and Wayt recently got engaged. According to Us Weekly, they got engaged within the last two weeks. Wayt proposed with a ring made from a family stone.

They met on a dating app about four months before getting engaged.

Portwood became famous after appearing on the MTV show “16 and Pregnant,” which followed her teen pregnancy with her then-boyfriend Gary Shirley. They have a 15-year-old daughter named Leah, whose life has also been shown on various MTV shows. Shirley is now married to Kristina Anderson, and they have a daughter together. They have a good relationship with Portwood.

The MTV shows also documented Portwood’s struggles with domestic violence, substance abuse, and depression. She spent almost two years in jail after a domestic violence incident with Shirley. In January 2021, Portwood talked to ET about her past with her daughter Leah.

Portwood also has a 6-year-old son named James with her ex, Andrew Glennon. Their relationship was troubled, and Portwood was arrested for domestic violence in July 2019. She denied the allegations. Glennon later moved with James to Malibu after winning custody.

Portwood said she would never stop fighting for her children. She called the custody battle a nightmare and said she wouldn’t wish the pain on anyone.
