On July 21, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested a man known as the “Foggy Bottom Stalker.” The suspect, 39-year-old Delonta Deon Spriggs from Northeast D.C., faces allegations of stalking a woman in the Foggy Bottom and Georgetown neighborhoods in Northwest D.C.

According to police, Spriggs is accused of stalking the woman multiple times between July 5 and July 21. The incidents were reported to have occurred over several weeks, creating increasing concern within the community. One resident, Lauren Hines, reported encountering Spriggs repeatedly. On one occasion, he followed her to the Bader Condominiums and was observed walking back and forth in front of the building, which she described as “prowling.”

In addition to Hines’ account, other residents reported seeing a man looking through the window of a ground-floor apartment and noticed him in the alley adjacent to the building. These reports added to the growing alarm among local residents.

With the help of community members, MPD was able to identify, locate, and arrest Spriggs. The police continue to investigate similar incidents in the surrounding area.
