Manhattan Police Seek Suspect in Upper East Side Assault Near Gym

Police in Manhattan are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to assault a woman near a popular gym on the Upper East Side.

According to the NYPD, the incident was reported just before midnight on Friday near East 76th Street and Second Avenue. The 27-year-old woman suffered cuts to her head and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The suspect fled on a two-wheeled vehicle after the assault. He was described as wearing an orange shirt, tan shorts, and sneakers.

A witness and another person offered the victim a safe place to hide and scared off the attacker. Additional details from the police about the incident were not immediately available.

No arrests have been made so far in connection with the case.
