Christopher Hurley, a 27-year-old from Little Egg Harbor, was sentenced to 12 years in state prison on Friday, June 7. He had pleaded guilty to robbery on Monday, March 18, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.

The robbery happened on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at a Rite Aid on Route 9 in Berkeley Township. Hurley went into the pharmacy, threatened a cashier with a knife, and demanded money. The store employees gave him cash, and he left.

Investigators identified Hurley as the suspect. He was later arrested by Toms River police in a different case on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. While in the Ocean County Jail, he was officially charged with the robbery three days later.

Due to the No Early Release Act, Hurley must serve more than 10 years before he can be eligible for parole.
