D.C. police are looking for suspects after nine people were shot in five different incidents over a span of just six hours from Wednesday night to early Thursday. Two of the victims died.

Here’s a timeline of the shootings:

  • 7:40 p.m. – A man was shot on Marion Barry Avenue, Southeast.
  • 8:48 p.m. – Three men were shot on 37th Place, Southeast.
  • 9:24 p.m. – Three men were shot on O Street, Northwest; 34-year-old Deangelo Jones later died.
  • 1:41 a.m. – A man was shot near 1st Street, Southeast, and later died.
  • 1:45 a.m. – A woman was shot and another woman was hurt by glass near Park Road, Northwest.

Police Chief Pamela Smith mentioned that for the shootings on 37th Place and O Street, the suspect vehicle might be a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee. Detectives are checking if it was the same vehicle involved in both shootings.

No new updates on the suspect search were given on Thursday.

The O Street shooting happened near 7th Street, an area known for violence. Chief Smith noted it had been about four months since a serious incident occurred there. Besides the three men who were shot, many parked cars on O Street were also hit by bullets. One witness reported hearing a large number of gunshots.
