A man named John Kastanes, who is 64 years old, got arrested for trying to kill a 70-year-old guy in Chicago. The Chicago Police Department said this happened on N. Keeler Ave.
Kastanes lives on N. Tripp Ave. He’s facing serious charges, like trying to murder someone, hurting someone with a gun, and causing serious harm to someone.
We don’t know all the details yet, but the police caught Kastanes on June 13, 2024, just before 11 a.m. They probably wanted to stop him from hurting anyone else.
The person he allegedly shot was found about ten minutes before they caught Kastanes. We don’t know who the victim is.
Kastanes is in custody until his detention hearing, which is happening at 2600 S. California.
The victim got help right after getting shot, but we don’t know how bad their injuries are or how they’re doing now.
We’re not sure why Kastanes did this, and the police are still investigating.
