Early Sunday morning, three men were injured in a drive-by shooting near the University of Chicago Medical Center on Chicago’s South Side.
Police responded to a report of multiple gunshot victims around 5 a.m. in the 5700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue.
According to police, someone in an SUV fired shots at a group of men standing near the corner of 57th Street and South Cottage Grove in the Washington Park neighborhood.
A 51-year-old man was shot in the nose, a 31-year-old man was shot in the lower right leg, and a 29-year-old man was shot in the right thigh and calf.
All three victims were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center and were reported to be in good condition.
Police officers examined a blue Dodge Charger parked on South Cottage Grove Avenue, which had multiple bullet holes in its doors. As of Sunday morning, no arrests had been made, and detectives from Area 1 were handling the investigation.
