A troubling new video shows Chad Irish, the man accused of shooting a woman, wrapping her body, and throwing it in a trash pile in Kips Bay, dragging the remains out of his apartment.
In the footage, Irish, a career criminal with 21 arrests and several prison terms since the 1980s, struggles to pull a sleeping bag out of his apartment in NYCHA’s Straus Houses. Although he can walk, he is seen using a motorized wheelchair in part of the video.
Irish, 55, allegedly shot Yazmeen Williams in the head and then dumped her body on Third Avenue on June 6. Police tracked him down using surveillance video that showed him moving the body down East 27th Street in his wheelchair.
He was arrested at his home on East 28th Street on July 9. During his arrest, angry neighbors, including the victim’s mother, confronted him. Some tried to take matters into their own hands, and at least one person threw a punch.
Irish is charged with murder for allegedly shooting Williams and is being held without bail after pleading not guilty. His next court date is July 29.
