Last week, Atlanta police caught someone they believe was involved in a shooting where a woman was killed while driving with her young child. Jamal Baker, 23, was arrested on Friday and is facing charges including murder and hurting a child. He’s being held in jail without bond.

The woman who died was Ne’Jah Cox, 21. Thankfully, her toddler wasn’t hurt. There was also a man in the car who wasn’t hurt, but the police haven’t said who he is.

The shooting happened on Center Street at about 2 a.m. on May 18. Three men started shooting at the car as it drove by, hitting Cox. She died at the scene after the driver called 911.

Baker is the only person arrested so far. The police haven’t said if they know who the other two shooters are.

Baker has been in trouble with the law before. He’s facing charges related to being in a gang, breaking his probation, and other violent crimes from different times.
