Chicago police are looking for the person who shot and killed a postal worker in the West Pullman neighborhood on Friday morning.

The incident happened around 11:30 AM on the 12100 block of South Harvard Avenue. Police say an unknown man approached the 48-year-old postal worker, shot her several times, and then ran away.

Emergency responders took her to Christ Hospital, but she was pronounced dead when she arrived.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering up to $250,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the shooter.

Neighbors described the victim as a well-liked mail carrier. Woodrow Davis, a local resident, said, “Everyone has been talking about her. They were giving her water all day. She was really a good person.”

Detectives from Area Two are investigating the case, but no one has been arrested yet.

In another case, a postal worker named Antonio Williams, 52, was also killed in June in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was shot while delivering mail and later died at the hospital. Michael Gentry, 32, was arrested in connection with that shooting and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
