In yet another recurring segment*, I'll be leaving you with a few parting shots on the heels of every Smithville football game this fall. The hope is that this will provide you with something to digest — or ruminate on, if you prefer — for the next few days.

Hard as it may be to believe, we're only a few hours away from the opening kickoff of a brand new high school football season.

After months of preparation, the lights come on once against this Friday night. And much like the players and coaches who soon will take to the field, I cannot wait to get going.
