Because of meeting procedure issues, the Smithville Board of Aldermen postponed discussion and possible action on two issues: whether to hire an independent investigator to determine what led to the water boil order and whether to give city water customers discounts.

The Smithville Commons developer has a preference list for an anchor tenant. Lowe’s takes the No. 1 spot. Home Depot comes in at No. 2. And No. 3 goes to Sutherlands.
