Because of meeting procedure issues, the Smithville Board of Aldermen postponed discussion and possible action on two issues: whether to hire an independent investigator to determine what led to the water boil order and whether to give city water customers discounts.

A reflective and spiritual woodsy trail now exists behind Smithville United Methodist Church, thanks to a local Boy Scout troop and the church.
