Drama

Posted by: nancyrigdon

Smithville High School play director Catherine Warren told the Smithville Board of Aldermen that the high school’s drama club would like to strengthen its ties with the community.

After Warren spoke during the Tuesday, Feb. 2, meeting, the board made a decision that could help accomplish Warren’s goal.

The board designated the club as a civic organization. As a result, the club is exempt from temporary sign permit fees. So if the club would like to promote its shows and plays with signs, they wouldn’t have to pay to do so.

If you missed my story on Warren and this year’s play in the Jan. 20 paper, students will perform the play “Rumors” at 7 p.m. at the high school Thursday and Friday, March 4 and 5.
