Anna Faltermeier/The Smithville Herald — A spectator stays clean by staying off the muddy court while watching a game at the Mud Mania mud volleyball tournament. Teams from all over Missouri, as well as a few from Kansas, competed. Proceeds from the tournament went to Youth With Vision.

Dowell, who is a sophomore at Smithville High School, played with a team made up of several other Smithville High School students. The tournament was organized and run by Youth With Vision, a Northland student-run organization of high schoolers.

Anna Faltermeier/The Smithville Herald — While some players walked to the lake to wash off the mud, others flung it around during the Mud Mania tournament at Kelsey Short Youth Camp area 4. The tournament was a double-elimination event with prizes for first, second and third place winners.
